Stuart Penny, Director of Photography
I live near Santa Fe, New Mexico. My greatest achievements in life are of being a father to three amazing daughters and married to my wonderful wife for 26 years. I am happy in this landscape and don’t expect I’ll ever leave.
I put my hands on my first 35mm still camera at age 18 in college. Photography eventually led to motion and motion led to a love for story telling. My work as a videographer has covered many media formats and platforms including television, commercials, film, sports and documentaries. I am passionate in my work as a steadicam operator. This specialty skill has allowed me to collaborate with many DPs and Directors that I would’ve never had the chance to otherwise. I am a freelance gun-for-hire in every since of the word. I cover productions on all budget and crew levels. My work typically includes everything from one man band projects to working on set as the DP running a crew and department as part of larger production. Regardless of the role, I apply the principles that make us successful in this business. Knowledge, work ethic and talent.
What I enjoy most about this job it’s the diversity it offers in both the work and the people. In the hours and days of being on set. It is the people you work with that make the job worth it or not. I hope to keep doing this job for many more years to come and to build many more friendships along the way.
